Four-year-old Ivanna Potts is living with a severe and complex form of congenital heart disease, yet she continues to face each day with courage and a smile.

Ivanna was born with hypoplastic right heart and heterotaxy syndrome, along with several related heart defects that prevent her heart from pumping blood and oxygen properly. Simple activities such as walking or playing often leave her breathless and tired.

She has already undergone multiple major open-heart surgeries, including bilateral Glenn shunts, pulmonary artery reconstruction, and TAPVD repair. While these procedures were vital, they were not a permanent solution, and Ivanna’s oxygen levels remain far below normal.

In the UK, Ivanna has been placed on what’s known as the single ventricle pathway, which would lead to the Fontan procedure, a palliative operation that supports circulation but doesn’t fully repair the heart and can result in lifelong complications. Due to her complex anatomy, Ivanna’s risks from this surgery are high.

Her parents, Shannon and Jack, have sought further help from Boston Children’s Hospital in the United States. After reviewing her case, the specialists there believe that a biventricular or 1.5 ventricle repair may be possible, offering Ivanna a better long-term outcome and quality of life.

The estimated cost for her treatment, hospital stay, and travel is around £250,000 ($333,000). All funds raised will go directly towards Ivanna’s medical care and recovery.

Any support, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful difference to Ivanna and her family as they work towards giving her the chance of a healthier future. If you are able to, please donate through her GoFundMe, where 100% of all donations will be used to give Ivanna the help she needs.

On behalf of Ivanna’s parents, Shannon and Jack, and everyone at Children’s Bed Shop, thank you for taking the time to read Ivanna’s story and for any help you can offer.
