Did you know that the world record for the most carved pumpkins in one place is 30,581?! The record was set by the residents of Keene in the US state of New Hampshire in October 2013. From pumpkins to black cats, witches and ghosts, Halloween is a frighteningly fun time that grown-ups and kids alike love to get involved in. To help you get into the spirit (pun very much intended), we've put together a quick guide of some Halloween ideas for your little one's bedroom. Read on, if you dare, for our scarily good Halloween ideas for all little ghouls and boils.

Fun Halloween decorations for every little monster

1. DIY Spider's Webs - Making your own spider's webs is a super easy way to add a touch of spooky fun to kid's bedrooms. It's also something that kids can get involved with (with proper supervision, of course). The theory is very similar to making a paper snowflake but, instead of using white paper, go for black.

2. Get Creative with Pumpkins - Is there anything more synonymous with Halloween than a spooky pumpkin? Carving pumpkins can be a bit messy so a great alternative is to simply use paints, felt tips, and stickers to decorate your pumpkin whole. Try sticking on some googly eyes and drawing a nose and mouth for a classic Halloween look, or think outside the box and paint your pumpkin in bold and bright colours.

Using mini pumpkins, apples, and oranges is a super idea for smaller children too. You could even go for turnip or beetroot, the original vegetables used to create Jack o'lanterns in Ireland. Another great advantage is that, because they haven't been carved, your pumpkins will last much longer and you can enjoy them for the whole Halloween season.

3. Create a Halloween Terrarium - Halloween terrariums are a brilliant decoration to make with kids that can be stored and used every year. You can use anything as your container - jam jars, bottles, or goldfish bowls and make them as spine-tingling as you wish. You could make a spooky castle, a witch's house, even a miniature graveyard. Look out for fish tank castles and decorations at pet shops, and head to your local charity shop for mini doll's house furniture. It's also a lot of fun to craft your own mini decorations from any materials you have at home. Cardboard boxes can become mummy's tombs or Dracula's coffin, and moss and pebbles from the garden could be transformed into a haunted garden!

4. Build a Flock of Spooky Paper Cup Vampire Bats - This mega easy craft will let you create a whole family of cute bats for some vintage Halloween bedroom decor. They're very easy to make and require minimal equipment and materials.

- Start with a black paper cup (or, if you can't find a paper cup in black, you could either paint a white one and let it dry completely, or create ghost cups instead following the same steps below).

- Turn your paper cup upside down (so the open end is facing down).

- Cut out two circles of paper for eyes and stick them to the cup. Alternatively, you could use glow in the dark stick on eyes for an extra touch of spookiness.

- Draw and cut out a pair of fangs and stick to the cup. Then do the same with two bat wings. You can find lots of templates on the internet for these.

- Make a small hole in the top of the cup and pull a piece of knotted string through to create a loop. Then you're ready to hang your bats from beds, wardrobes, shelves and door handles for some spooky fun. If your child sleeps in a mid sleeper or bunk bed, they look especially effective attached to the bed railings.

5. Turn Your Teddies Into Ghosts and Ghouls- Get your little one's teddies in on the action by making some simple costumes. Ghosts and mummies are two popular choices, but the sky's the limit!
