At the Childrens Bed Shop, we realise there is more to looking after our little ones than just providing them with a great bed! There are many health benefits that come from exercise. So, encouraging our little ones to up their physical activity game could be a great idea.

Exercise can reduce the risk of developing obesity and chronic diseases and will help to achieve and maintain healthy body weight. It can also improve the quantity and quality of sleep especially if your children struggle to sleep, as well as boosting their self-esteem and bettering their self-image. And exercise doesn’t just carry health benefits for children, it can also improve adult’s coordination and motor skills, so we are more equipped to juggle the school run!

Aerobic Fitness

Increasing your heart rate from time to time isn’t such a bad thing. A raised heart rate increased to 170bpm for 40-60 minutes, three to four times a week will give up to a 10 per cent improvement in aerobic fitness, especially if it is completed for a period of two to three months.

Muscular Strength & Endurance

Resistance training is a great way to improve muscular strength and endurance in children. Use this type of training two to three times per week to benefit your little ones.

Academic Performance

By completing 15 minutes of exercise it will help improve your child’s academic performance by an average of about a quarter of a grade. Gold stars all around!!

Maintain Healthy Bones & Joints

Regular Physical Activity helps build and maintain healthy bones, muscles and joints. If your child is between the age of 11 to 18 and exercises regularly, this will aid in increasing bone density, particularly in the spine and hip.

Reduces Stress & Anxiety

If your child completes 30 minutes of cardio exercise per day this will help boost their confidence, reduce stress and any anxiety that they may suffer. Pair this with 30 minutes on the treadmill to enhance their problem-solving skills by up to 10%.

Once your child is reaping the health benefits of exercising regularly and looking forward to a good night’s sleep it might be worth investing in a nice new bed for them to snuggle up in! Check out a range of comfy options at the Childrens Bed Shop.
