A shorty bed is a children's bed built on a shorter frame, taking a 175cm mattress instead of the standard 190cm. That saves around 15cm of floor length without reducing the width, which can be the difference between a bed fitting a small bedroom and not. Shorty bunk beds keep two sleeping spaces in a room that could not take a full-length pair, and several include a pull-out trundle for occasional guests.
